Hong Kong has many things to see and do there.  You can cross the harbour on a ferry and ride the tram up to the Peak Tower where there is a wax museum, shops and a spectacular lookout over Hong kong.  For accommodation stay somewhere in the Kowloon District as this is the major shopping area.   I purchased a digital camera and photographic equipment from there and have been very happy with my purchase.  We also went to the night markets in Temple Street where you can pick up some bargains.  With Hong Kong being so centrally located in Asia you can easily have a quick trip to Thailand or China also.
