THE ROSE GARDENS - BANGKOK

Beautifully landscaped and picturesque gardens, I thoroughly enjoyed The Rose Gardens.  It was a beautiful sunny day and we were entertained with traditional thai dancing, a kick boxing exhibition, a traditional thai wedding exhibition, elephant shows and a delicious buffet lunch.  Well worth the visit and you get to see a little of the traditional Thai culture.  You can even go for an elephant ride or have your photo taken with a boaconstrictor around your neck if you feel so inclined.

SPEEDBOAT TOUR TO PHI PHI ISLAND

This tour was by far the highlight of my trip.  I had never been in a speedboat before let alone been snorkelling.  We were picked up at the beach from Phuket with three onboard motors this boat had plenty of grunt, and with the calm waters the trip was smooth as silk.  We were on our way to Phi Phi Island which was the location of the filming of the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio.  It took us one hour to reach there, but when we passed other smaller islands, they stopped the boat to allow photographs to be taken.  On arrival to "The Beach", we were all in awe, so beautiful and the waters crystal clear.  We stopped at the beach for an hour so that we could go swimming, the waters were so warm and when i looked around me while swimming there were tropical fish around me everywhere, they are certainly not shy and swim right up to you.  We then boarded back onto the speedboat and about 50 metres away where the waters were much deeper we went snorkelling.  This was my first snorkelling experience and it was just so breathtaking with the fish and corals.  Upon leaving Maya Bay we were served sandwiches and drinks on board and then heading back to Phuket they stopped the boat approximately 30 mins from land for another snorkelling venture.  It was an awesome experience, felt like we were in the middle of the ocean surrounded by several other speedboats all full of snorkelling tourists also.  This time however we stopped for two hours, so by the time I got back onto the boat I felt like I was a truly experienced snorkeller and quite proud of myself.
